ABOUT
As a wife and mother of three including identical twins, I curate experiences for my family centered around food and travel. In the early stages of my career as a journalist, I focused on advocacy and the representation of marginalized voices. I grounded myself in fitness and utilized my experience to unlock my clients' fitness potential. While working in television news, my passion for food, nutrition, and wellness sparked an idea to document my training for an Olympic distance triathlon. Blogging my experience turned into a weekly health and fitness feature for ABC11 WTVD News and served as a catalyst to return to the classroom and learn more about nutrition.
As a subject matter expert, my professional environment allows me an opportunity to teach future dietitians, train hospital food service staff, and develop processes and procedures that aid in the excellent care of patients. Although my path has been non-traditional, it has allowed opportunities to share and teach utilizing many skills learned throughout my 20+ year career. I remain inspired by my ability to connect with a larger audience and affect the human experience with food.
